Debuting a new booth look, a new location in the bustling thoroughfare of Hall A, and two celebrity guests, Audionamix celebrated our third appearance at the NAMM 2016 show this past weekend.

We debuted a new, lower price for VVC (now only $199!) and our TRAX / TRAX Pro 2.6 updates, featuring an improved vocal targeting algorithm and a new import workflow. To learn about these updates, check out this video:

Being in the main Pro Audio hall of the Anaheim convention center brought increased booth traffic, and many more opportunities to chat with and demonstrate our audio source separation technology to producers, engineers, teachers, and musicians.

We were incredibly proud to have two seasoned veterans from the audio community join us to present their views of how our software can impact modern audio production.

Grammy Award-winning mix engineer Dave Pensado joined Ellie on Friday to share his excitement for ADX TRAX Pro, how it would have saved him loads of time while working on Michael Jackson’s “Love Never Felt So Good”, the uses of VVC, and how he got his start in the audio industry. Dave also gave away copies of TRAX Pro and VVC like a bad-ass belated Father Christmas to the throng of fans standing, sitting, and kneeling at his lap.

The talented and charismatic producer/ remixer/ DJ Dave Audé crashed the booth on Saturday to explain how Doc from Audionamix isolated the vocal of Adele’s “Hello” using TRAX Pro, and helped Dave make a kangaroo-banging remix of the ubiquitous track. “Audé Errday”, as he is now called, also satisfied his legions of admirers with a trivia contest to give away more ADX software.

Between giving demos and speaking with current and future users, the ADX Product Specialist team took the time to discover pockets of personal joy amongst the sometimes overwhelming small city that is NAMM. A couple of highlights were the Moog Island of Electronicus (a synthesizer oasis that was a desert, not in the desert) and the dual-presenters at the AVID booth, showing off the power of AVID Cloud Collaboration. Our friend Mario demonstrated ADX VVC at the AVID booth. We’re honored to have AVID demonstrate ADX technology at every convention even when we don’t have our own dedicated booth.

We were thrilled to see students, teachers and colleagues, past and present, and share a moment to reconnect and reflect. We reunited with our friends from Crypton, who had made the long journey from Japan to Anaheim.

Billiam was overjoyed to see Miku, with whom he has begun a fervid pen-pal correspondence, mostly discussing the difficulties of holding a pen with plastic appendages.

After the 2016 NAMM show came to an end, we stayed an extra day to share and learn at the AVID developer conference, which always serves to strengthen our current connectivity partnership with AVID and other major players in the audio software industry. Then we headed back to LA with fond memories, a few too many branded lanyards, and a rekindled enthusiasm for sharing our technology with the world.
